Interns will investigate how aberrant methylation at CpG islands leads to transcriptional silencing of tumor suppressor genes in pathological specimens. Work includes bioinformatic analysis of methylation-expression correlations, mapping abnormal methylation patterns, and characterizing their functional consequences.
