What a Bioinformatics Intern Does

A bioinformatics intern works on live, supervised computational tasks: retrieving and processing sequence data, running alignments and pipelines, scripting analyses in Python or R, using databases and interpreting results biologically. You shadow real workflows and progressively own pieces of them, building skills the classroom cannot teach.

Who Can Apply

Internships are open to students in bioinformatics, biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry, computer science and life sciences, and to graduates preparing for data and research roles. Entry tracks assume no programming experience; advanced tracks expect comfort with the command line and basic scripting.

Tracks & Modes

Programmes run across academic, professional, industrial and research tracks, in both online and offline modes. Academic tracks satisfy curriculum and credit needs; professional and industrial tracks focus on reproducible, workplace-ready analysis; research tracks support dissertation and publication work.

Durations & Outcomes

Durations range from short intensive stints to multi-month engagements. You finish with a documented portfolio of analyses and code, reviewed competence across tools and databases and a verifiable certificate — the credible experience that distinguishes a fresher CV.
